Preceded (ff. 4-12) and followed (ff. 86b-60b, reversing the volume) by miscellaneous notes, partly in French, German and Arabic. In a reused school notebook, with partly imperfect notes on drill movements, circ. 1874. On f. 23 is a note of a meeting with Capt. Tristan Charles Sawyer Speedy and his wife.
