Vol. II (ff. 58). Letters and poems of Alfred Edward Housman, together with correspondence and printed pamphlets mostly relating to him; 1930-1942. The contents (see list at f. 1) include:-
(1) Eight letters from Housman to Blakeney; 1930-1935. ff. 3, 15 (typewritten copy), 16-27. Of these all but two (ff. 3, 20) were privately printed by Blakeney in 1941. All but three (ff. 18, 22, 24) were printed by H. Maas, The Letters of A. E. Housman, 1971, pp. 302, 319, 384, 431, 438. Preceded (f. l b) by a copy of a letter to -, 13 Feb. 1934, and followed (f. 29) by a letter to the Midland Bank, 3 Nov. 1930.
(2) Humorous poems by Housman. Typewritten (duplicated) copies, sent to Blakeney by the poet's sister, Mrs Katherine Elizabeth Symons, in 1942 (see her letter, f. 49). ff. 11-14b. Viz.:-(a) 'Inhuman Henry, or Cruelty to Fabulous Animals'. Printed by Laurence Housman, A.E.H., 1937, pp. 239-241. f. l l;-(b) 'Aunts and Nieces, or Time and Space', beg.
