Containing brief entries concerning the weather (often with thermometer readings) visits and callers, sketching and reading. Her social circle included the Miss Berrys, Samuel Rogers, Sydney Smith, Lord Macaulay, Lord Brougham, Stratford Canning and Lord and Lady Holland. The entry for 27 'Jan.' [Dec.] 1840 refers to Master Humphrey's Clock.
