WYATT PAPERS. Vol. I. A collection of documents by and relating to members of the Wyatt family, [1496?]-early 18th cent., compiled by Richard Wyatt (d. 1753); 1727. Partly copies. Partly Latin. Chiefly by and concerning Sir Henry Wyatt (d. 1537), Sir Thomas Wyatt the elder (1503-1543), Sir Thomas Wyatt the younger (1520-1554), George Wyatt (1554-1624) and Sir Francis Wyatt (d. 1644). The contents are described by Richard Wyatt at ff. 483-485v; see also Bulletin of the Institute of Historical Research, I (1923), pp. 73-76, and The Papers of George Wyatt, ed. D. M. Loades, Royal Historical Society, Camden 4th Series, V (1968), pp. 224-227, in which the several of the items by George Wyatt are also printed (see below for further details). A preliminary note (f. 1v) by Robert Marsham states that the volume came into possession of Bradford Denne Hawkins, Vicar of Rivenhall, Essex, and afterwards of Lionel Oliver of Hencham, King's Lynn, by whom it was given to Charles, 3rd Earl of Romney, in 1872.
