A. 'Plan of Hazlewood mill and lands adjoining in the parish of Duffield, county of Derby 1824'. Endorsed 'Plan of Hazzlewood [sic] mill & property purchased by Mr Tempest from Mrs Baker & Mr Osborne 1824. By Mr Bromley Surveyor'. 'Scale of chains'. [4 chains = 75mm.] 1 : 1056. The map is oriented with NNE at the top, and shows the mill and associated buildings in plan; the buildings are numbered and there is a key in the lower right-hand corner. 'Foot roads' are shown by broken lines. Robert Bromley of Derby is listed in P. Eden (editor), Dictionary of land surveyors and local cartographers of Great Britain and Ireland 1550-1850, (1975-1979) pt. 1, p. 46, as active in Derbyshire and the surrounding counties from 1825.
