1. ff. 1-2. ‘Illa Autem Arbor’ (J15), for female choir; [1955?]. Pencil draft in short score.
2. ff. 3-65. ‘O Magnum Mysterium’ (J39), for chorus and instrumental ensemble; dated 13 Feb. 1960 (f. 6v). Sketches and drafts (ff. 4-15); ink score of the four carols with piano reduction (ff. 16-40), full scores on transparencies of the carols and of the instrumental sonatas (ff. 41-64). With the sketches are drafts apparently for the Fantasia on ‘O Magnum Mysterium’ for organ (J40). The transparencies include two scores of the instrumental sonatas, one numbered in sequence with the carols to provide a performing order for the whole work. Published Schott & Co., 1961-1962.
3. ff. 66-83. ‘Te Lucis Ante Terminum’ (J46) for mixed chorus and instruments; 1961. Sketches and drafts (ff. 66-73); pencil full score of the instrumental verses (ff. 74-77); dated 12 Feb. 1961 (f. 77); full score on transparencies, lacking one page (bars 213-222) (ff. 78-83). With two other settings of the text, an ink full score for mixed chorus, dated 1959 (f. 67), and part of a pencil full score for soprano and instrumental ensemble (ff. 68-69). 4. ff. 84-96. ‘Jesus Autem Hodie’, ‘Alma Redemptoris Mater’ and ‘Carol on St Steven’ (J52), for unaccompanied chorus; dated Cirencester, 1961 (f. 92). Scores on transparencies. Published separately, Schott & Co., 1962.
