Includes copies of first and second violin and double bass parts for Ritornello from Monteverdi, ‘L’Incoronazione di Poppea’; see also Add. 71438, 71439. For sketches of ‘Five Klee Pictures’, see Add. 71444, ff. 4-6.
2. ff. 35-46. Four [Five] Canons (J32); [1959]. Short and full scores of canons I-IV, with full score of canon V.
3. ff. 47-48. Three Pieces ‘for the Junior Orchestra’; 25 Dec. 1960. Short score.
4. ff. 49-53. ‘Richard II’ (J47), incidental music; [1959]. Ink sketches in short score.
5. ff. 54-65. ‘Peter Pan’ (J49), incidental music; 1961. Ink full scores, in various hands (ff. 54-64), and percussion part. Written by pupils at Cirencester Grammar School; the National Anthem (J48; Add. 71437, ff. 62-64) was arranged by Maxwell Davies for this production.
