SUPPLEMENTARY HARROD PAPERS. Vol. VII (ff. 119). Correspondence concerning the will of George Bernard Shaw; 1955-1957. In 1956 solicitors acting for the British Museum and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art asked Harrod to depose to an Affidavit on their behalf. The Public Trustee was seeking directions from the Chancery Division of the High Court of Justice regarding the disposition of trusts specified in the will, and Harrod prepared evidence on the economic viability or otherwise of introducing a phonetic alphabet for the English language.
