TRUMBULL PAPERS. Vol. CXCV (ff. 191). Documents relating to special embassies from England to Denmark, Sweden and the Hanse towns, etc.; circa Sept. 1643-2 June 1646, n.d. Partly autograph, signed and printed. Partly Latin and German. The negotiations, which relate to commerce, begin with a petition (f. 1-4) to Parliament from the English Merchant Adventurers trading to Germany, circa but before 2 Sept. 1643: cf. Commons Journals, III, 266. They include copies and drafts of letters of credence and instructions, etc., along with despatches addressed to Weckherlin by Theodore Haak and Robert Lowther, Richard Jenks and William Barker, and Thomas Skinner. Several of Haak's letters are written in German and accompanied by English abstracts in Weckherlin's hand.
