Partly drafts and copies in Weckherlin's hand. Partly French. Included (ff. i-ii) is a pencilled list of contents from volume XXI of the former Miscellaneous Series. From Misc. XX-XXII, XLI, XLII, XLIV, and Add. 14, 16, 43, 60. As follows:
1. ff. 1-79. Miscellaneous correspondence and papers relating to diplomatic affairs; 7/17 Apr. 1643-3/13 June 1652, n.d. Partly drafts and copies. From Misc. XX-XXII, XLII, XLIV, and Add. 14, 43.
2. ff. 80-91. Eleven loose leaves from an official journal and letter-book, etc., of G. R. Weckherlin relating to diplomatic affairs; circa 10 Oct. 1643-5 Dec. 1645, 13/23 Aug. 1646. Imperfect. Partly autograph copies. Partly French and German. The contents mostly relate to transactions with Réné Augier, Walter Strickland and Theodore Haak (for whom see above Add. 72434-72435), and include copies of letters from the Committee. Two leaves smaller in format than the rest comprise (f. 90) copies of letters, in French, 6 Nov. 1644-6 Mar. 1644/5, including three addressed to Louis XIII, and (f. 91) entries, partly duplicate, for 13 June and 3 July 1645 and 13/23 Aug. 1646. 3. ff. 92-124. Miscellaneous letters and papers relating to domestic affairs; 25 Nov. 1643-circa 1 Mar. 1647/8, n.d. Partly drafts and copies. From Misc. XX, XXI, XLI.
4. ff. 125-140. John Dury: Translation of a treatise by Hugh L'Amy and Peter le Pruvost on the 'Improvement of Husbandry in the Plantations'; 30 Nov. 1645. Copy. This is accompanied by a letter of Dury to Samuel Hartlib presenting the tract for the use of 'the committee which the Parliament hath appointed to take [le Pruvost's] proposalls into consideration'.
