TRUMBULL PAPERS. Vol. CCXXXVI (ff. 42). John Selden: Two tracts on probate jurisdiction; circa early 17th cent.Copies. These comprise (ff. 2-24) 'Of the Originall of Ecclesiasticall Jurisdiction of Testaments', in eight chapters, and (ff. 25-40) 'Of the Disposition, or Administration of Intestats goods', in five chapters. They were printed as Two Treatises Written by John Selden . . . (1683), and again as part of a larger collection of Tracts written by John Selden . . . in the same year. Other 17th-century texts are found in MSS Additional 25250, ff. 107-150v, 25252, ff. 3-37, Harley 830, ff. 66-98v and Stowe 423, ff. 23-50v.
Paper: ff. 42. 325 x 210mm. Five gatherings, collating 110, 2-48, 56, side sewn into paper wrapper. Watermark of posts with letters 'I D R', similar to Heawood no. 3492 (dated 1640): cf. larger variant in Add. 72471 above. Transcribed in a single hand. 19th-cent. docket on f. 1. Formerly Add. 19(23).
