TRUMBULL PAPERS. Vol. CCCV. Volume containing memorials and petitions addressed to the King of France, his ministers and officials on behalf of British residents in France and their affairs during the embassies of Henry Savile and Lord Preston in Paris; 1681-1685, n.d. Copies in several clerical hands. French. Table of contents at the end. On blank pages at back, reversed, in Trumbull's hand, is 'A Short Historicall Account of the Affaires of West Barbary and the Parts adjoining for the Space of 40 years' (incomplete), which seems to begin circa 1650. Inside the back pastedown and fly-leaf, in same hand as that of some of the memorials, is a list of the contents of various books written by Jean Launois, in Latin and French, on theological subjects. Labelled by Trumbull on the front cover, 'Memorialls and Other Miscellaneous Papers in the French Court. A[nn]o 1682'.
