The volume was originally used as an entry-book for the items in the first category below, with the last three added later at the end, reversing the volume. Inscribed '307' on spine. 1. Memorials addressed to the King of France, his ministers and officials on behalf of British subjects and their affairs during Trumbull's embassy in Paris ending with a copy of his letters of recall; Dec. 1685-Aug. 1686. French. Copies in the hand of Trumbull's secretary, James Dayrolle.
2. 'An Account of the most Important Transactions relating to the last years Expedition viz. 1692 written by the Earl of Nottingham', in the form of a diary, 26 Feb.-1 Aug.; [1693]. Copy in the hand of Trumbull's nephew, John Bridges. Concerning the battle of La Hogue.
3. 'A rough Draught of a New Modell att Sea' by George Savile, Marquess of Halifax, copied 29 Nov. 1693, by Trumbull himself from Halifax's holograph.
