NN. Letter from Thomas Lewin, miscellaneous writer, to Rev. James William Bellamy, Headmaster of Merchant Taylor's School; Crawley, [circa 8] June 1824. Incorporated is a series of twenty epigrams in English verse on the Latin verse-tags 'Bona verba quaeso' and 'Detur pulchriori', evidently composed for Election at the School on 11 June following, which he submits for criticism by his former schoolmaster: several are deleted by crossing through in pencil. The date of the letter, given in error as 11 June, is probably that of its postmark of 8 June. Purchased from J. L. M. Gulley, 23 Sept. 1999.
Paper; ff. 119-120v. 227 x 183mm.
