A. 'Field Sketch Sheets of a General Survey near Rochester by H.F. (sic) de Vere. Lieut. Royal Engineers, Octr. 1848'. One map. Manuscript. Scale of 30 chains to 2.25 inches [i.e. 1: 10560]. 41 x 51.5 cm. South--East at top. Ink and watercolour on paper. The map has been cut out and mounted on paper, itself mounted on linen. Certified bottom right by `JSMK Captn RE' and `J. Smith 17 or(?)'. The relief is depicted with broken contours.
