1. Correspondence between Hayter and foreign secretaries Anthony Eden and Selwyn Lloyd concerning Soviet foreign and domestic policy, a visit by Ekaterina Furtseva's parliamentary delegation to Britain and a possible reciprocal visit by Eden and Lloyd; 1953-1956. Arranged chronologically.
2. File relating to the enquiry into the case of John Vassall, admiralty official and spy; 1962-1963. Includes: two statements by Hayter giving evidence with related notes and correspondence; 'Report of the Tribunal appointed to enquire into the Vassall case and Related Matters', annotated, 'Uncorrected Proof', 1963.
3. Report on journeys made by Hayter through Transcaucasia, 1930, and an itinerary of a visit to Dubai and Muscat, 1958; 1930-1958. The report is divided into 'general condition', housing, shops, wages, public security, religion, national minorities, travel and communications and Narkomindel representatives, and covers: Baku, Azerbaijan; Tiblisi; Yerevan, Armenia; Orjonikidze, Georgia; Batumi [Batum], Georgia; Yalta, Ukraine; Bakhchi Serai; Sebastopol; Odessa, Ukraine.
