Including a typewritten copy of a letter from Salisbury to Lord Lansdowne, 1891, and a printed Cabinet Paper containing Colonel L. V. Swaine's memorandum on the situation in Turkey, 1895. For Cross's earlier correspondence with Lord Salisbury, see Add. 51263.
2. ff. 19-21. Copies of telegrams from Lord Reay, Governor of Bombay, Lord Dufferin, Viceroy of India, and the Governor of Madras, congratulating Cross on this appointment as Secretary fo State for India; 1886.
3. ff. 22-23. Letter from Edward Stanhope as Colonial Secretary, 1886. See also Add. 51269.
4. ff. 24-31. Letters, etc., from Sir Henry Frederick Ponsonby, Private Secretary to the Queen; 1882-1889. Includes an original letter to the Queen from the Duke of Connaught, 1887.

6. ff. 53-57. Letters, etc., from Horatia Stopford, Woman of the Bedchamber; 1880-1882. Includes an autograph letter from Queen Victoria to Stopford.
7. ff. 58-66. Letters, etc., Harriet Phipps, Woman of the Bedchamber; 1886-1901. Includes a printed copy of the Queen's address to her subjects on the death of her grandson, the Duke of Clarence, 1982.
8. ff. 67-74. Letters, etc., from Susanna Innes-Ker, wife of 6th Duke of Roxburghe, Lady of the Bedchamber; Fleetwood Isham Edwards, Assistant Private Secretary; and Jane Spencer, wife of 2nd Baron Churchill, Lady in Waiting; 1878, 1880, 1888.
