Coleridge Family Papers. Vol. dccclxvi. Letters and papers relating to the work of a judicial committee; 1892. The committee considered the reform of several aspects of the judicial system including reform of the circuit system, the reform of procedure and place of trial in the Queen's Bench Division, the extension of the powers of judges in some cases, reform of the appeals process and the creation of a court to try commercial causes. The volume contains two memoranda and a page of notes in John Duke Coleridge's handwriting stating his views on the proposed reform of the circuit system and the creation of a court for commercial cases, on which his views were contrary to those of the majority of the committee.
