1. ff. 1-2. Lecture given by Jella Lepman announcing ‘The Little Bookroom’ as the winner of the 1956 Hans-Christian Andersen Award; 1956.
2. ff. 3-30. Correspondence relating to the announcement and acceptance of the Regina Medal; 3 Sept. 1958-28 March 1961. Includes letters from Alfonzo Vilanova and Sister M. Camillus of the Catholic Library Association (passim) with printed extracts from the Catholic Library World enclosed. Also includes letters from Ruth Hill Vigueurs, editor of the Horn Book Magazine, regarding publication of Eleanor Farjeon’s acceptance speech (ff. 12-15). Ruth Hill Vigueurs had first met Eleanor at the New York Public Library during her 1938 visit to America. For a letter from Ruth Hill Vigueurs see Add. 83145.
3. ff. 31-35. Acceptance speech with autograph revisions for the Regina Award read by Edward Ardizzone on behalf of Eleanor Farjeon; [1959]. The speech was published in The Horn Book Magazine, 35.2 (April 1959).
4. ff. 36-43. Miscellaneous material relating to the Regina Award; 1959. Includes a ‘Schedule 24 March to 8 April’, guest lists for award events, the programme for the award luncheon and a printed article about the award from The Commonweal, 22 May 1959.
5. ff. 44-47. Programme for the presentation of the first Eleanor Farjeon award; 1966. The Eleanor Farjeon Award was instituted by the Children's Book Circle and the first winner was Margery Fisher.
