Charleston Bulletin Vol. xvi. Plays by Quentin Bell; circa 1923. Written in a pencilled scrawl, but some with suggestions in ink by Virginia Woolf.
Contents:
1. ‘The cospirators [sic]’; n.d. Foliated by Quentin Bell as follows: Preface 1, [2 unnumbered leaves], 3, 4, 4a, 4b, 5—20, 20a, 20a, 21-24, 24a, the last leaf bearing on its verso Quentin Bell’s introduction to it as a Christmas supplement to the ‘Charleston bulletin’.
2. ‘Chinoiseries, or Grizels successor, a sequel to “The conspirators”’; n.d. Foliated by Quentin Bell as follows: [unnumbered title and cast list], 1-73.
3. Two extracts from an unnamed play with the characters Mary, Mrs Humphrey, Inspector, Faith; Antony, Helen, PC: Mr and Mrs Shriek, and Fagget, being Act 2, scene 2 act 3, scene 1, foliated 35-74 and 76 by Quentin Bell, and end of Act 2, scene 1 and another version of act 2, scene 2, foliated 34-43 by Quentin Bell. With suggestions for amendments possibly by Virginia Woolf.
4. ‘Country life’ Cast list, summary of acts 1, 2 and 3. The summary of act 1 is in the hand of Virginia Woolf.
5. Extract from an unnamed play with no act or scene indication, but possibly act 1 of ‘Country life’. With the characters Anne, Quentin, J, Mrs Heward, Zany Jane, Mr Jebrick, and F. Eleven leaves of a notepad foliated 2-12 by Quentin Bell.
6. Summary of act 4 of play with the characters Alice, Stephen; Lucy, Diana, and Ford. In the hand of Virginia Woolf.
