Poems by C. G. Rossetti (autograph title on f. 1); 27 April 1842-3 Dec. 1845. Fair copies, circa 1845-1847, in an older hand, stated by William Michael Rossetti to be that of Maria Francesca Rossetti, written in a notebook consisting of thirty two octavo leaves of ruled white wove paper. No watermark. English and Italian. Each poem has the date of composition, and there is an index on ff. 32 and 32b with dates of publication added by Wise. On f. 1b is a note by Christina's mother. For further notebooks used by Christina for fair copies of her poems see 1364 (1)-(6). The six poems on ff. 2, 5b-9, 19b-21b, 23b, 24b-26 were privately printed by G. Polidori, Christina's grandfather, in Verses by Christina G. Rossetti, 1847, pp. 10-12, 17, 22, 23, 28, 29, 39, 40, 49. The poem on f. 23a, 'A Tirsi', appears as the first stanza of 'Amore e Dovere', printed on p. 37 of Verses. The poem on ff. 28-29b was first printed in The Poetical Works, 1904, p. 85, while those on ff. 3, 12b and 18 were first printed in New Poems, 1896, pp. 305-307.
