'Lines written on hearing that a French professor has discovered beyond doubt that Wordsworth, when in France in 1791-3, became the father of an illegitimate child': a sonnet by E. V. Lucas; [1922?]. Fair copy, typewritten on one side only of a large quarto leaf of white wove paper. Watermark 'United Service / Bond / HS (in monogram)'. The typescript is signed 'E. V. Lucas' and inscribed 'To Thomas J. Wise'. The poem appears to refer to Émile Legouis, William Wordsworth and Annette Vallon, 1922. [Ashley Library Catalogue, viii, p. 45].
