'Targum'.
1. 'On the peculiarities of the houses and ships of the Egyptians. From the Arabic of Abdollatif, a writer of the 13th century.': a translation by Borrow of an essay in prose; circa 1830. Autograph fair copy, written on both sides of a quarto leaf of white laid paper. Watermark part of lion and trident. The translation is entitled as above in Borrow's hand, and signed 'G B' in Arabic script. This translation did not form part of Targum. ff. 51, 51b.
2. 'The Lay of Biarke'; circa 1830. Fair copy, written on both sides of an octavo leaf of white laid paper. Watermark crown and part of [ ]. The MS. is entitled 'The Biarkemal' in Borrow's hand. The text found in the fair copy differs by fifteen lines and one word from that printed in the first edition. ff. 52, 52b.
3. 'Carolan's Lament'; circa 1850. Fair copy, written on both sides of a quarto leaf of blue laid paper. Watermark figure of Britannia. The MS. is entitled 'Carolan's Lament / From the Irish' in Borrow's hand. The text found in the fair copy differs by five lines and three words from that printed in the first edition. ff. 53, 53b.
