'At Lerici. 1883': a poem by Stopford A. Brooke; 1883-1887. Autograph fair copy, with two revisions, written on one side only of an octavo leaf of cream wove paper (f. 2). No watermark. Entitled as above in Brooke's hand, and signed 'Stopford. A. Brooke.'. The MS. is bound into a volume with two letters from Brooke to Wise, the first (f. 1), dated 10 March 1887, sending this MS., the second (f. 3), dated 21 June 1886, thanking Wise for the gift of copies of the second edition of Alastor and of the first edition of the Prologue to Hellas, byP. Also included is a photograph of Brooke (f. 5b), and a copy of his article 'Some Thoughts on Shelley', cut from pp. 124-135 of Macmillan's Magazine for June 1880 (ff. 7-29), and preceded by a printed titlepage (f. 6) and half title (f. 4), and the description of this volume cut from a copy of Wise's A Shelley Library, 1924 (f. i).
