'The choice of Phylias a moral tale by the author of Pelham etc.': a tale by Edward Bulwer-Lytton; [1830-1840?]. Autograph fair copy, with revisions, written on one side only of fifteen leaves of white wove paper torn from a quarto notebook, and on both sides of three further leaves (ff. 4, 11 and 18). No watermark. An addition to the text has been made on the verso of f. 11. The MS. was apparently never printed. Ashley Library Catalogue, iii, p. 112.
