'Munera Pulveris': six essays on Political Economy by John Ruskin; 1862-1863. Autograph draft of the footnote to Chapter VI, paragraph 155, written on both sides of a folio leaf of blue laid paper. No watermark. The text found in the draft is clearly closer to that of Fraser's Magazine for April 1863 (where Chapters V and VI were first printed) than to that of the first and subsequent editions, but it is not identical. In the draft the footnote is headed 'Note on Consumption' in Ruskin's hand. Ashley Library Catalogue, iv, pp. 179-180.
