'Memorandum Relating to a sailing-ship for perfecting the training of Merchant Service Officers belonging to the port of Liverpool' by Joseph Conrad; 1920. Typescript, heavily revised by Conrad in his own hand in ink and in pencil, written on one side only of nineteen large quarto leaves of white wove paper. Watermark 'Original / Chartham Mills / Kent'. On f. 1 is a title-page written out by Conrad in his own hand, probably at the request of T. J. Wise. At the head of f. 2 in red crayon Conrad has written 'July 1920. First Draft'.
