15. Prose fragment, 'Dream of Youth and Beauty', beg. 'It was a dream or vision in which I beheld what I am now attempting to recall'; [1846]. Autograph draft, written on both sides of one quarto leaf of white wove paper, and on one side only of another (f. 48). No watermark. ff. 47-48.
16. Two passages from 'High and Low Life in Italy'; [1838]. Autograph draft, written on both sides of two conjoined quarto leaves of white wove paper (no watermark) (ff. 49-50b), and both sides of a quarto leaf of grey wove paper (watermark a circular wreath surrounding three fleur-de-lys) (ff. 51, 51b). The first passage begins 'Mr. Shires to Lady C. My Lady, The remark you make about the abundance of game in the neighbourhood of Florence' and ends 'Now hear my tale which not more strange than true is, / She wheedleth out of me near twenty Louis'; the second passage begins 'Mr Edward Talboys to the Rev. Mr. Talboys. I am afraid you have thought me more capable than I feel myself of giving a correct and judicious opinion of Italian poetry in the present day' and ends 'You see, my dear Sir, I have adopted the custom of the country. People never dine here without carrying off something in the pocket'. ff. 49-51b.
