'The Pilgrimage of Pleasure': a pastiche of a morality play by A. C. Swinburne; [1864]. Autograph draft, written on both sides of four folio leaves of blue wove paper (ff. 1-4b). No watermark. The play, or interlude, which was writ-ten to be incorporated into his cousin Mary Gordon's story for boys, 'The Children of the Chapel', is entitled 'The Platt of an Interlude / called / The Pylgrymage of Pleasure / Acted by the Children of the Queen's Matie's Revells / (Xmas 1560)'. First printed in The Children of the Chapel, 1864. There are drawings by Swinburne of the heads of various characters on ff. 1b and 4b. On f. 3b he has drawn two birches, one filling the whole width of the page. Bound up with the MS. is the printed text of 'The Pilgrimage of Pleasure', ff. 5-12. Ashley Library Catalogue, vi, p. 51.
