Olivier Archive. Vol. DCCXXXV (ff. ). Proposals and papers for films not made; mainly but not entirely, suggestions from individuals. Papers relating to the abortive film of “Macbeth” are at Add, MSS 80508-80516, and 80534-80546. Films suggested include “The Eustace diamonds” (script at Add. MS. 80533); “Harvey”; “The quiet American”; “Treasure Island”; “Separate tables”; and “Cakes and ale”, almost all of which were filmed, but without Olivier’s participation. There are also proposals for the dubbing of French films.
