'Eg. 1927, 1928. Original register of baptisms in the parish of St. Theodore at Basle; 1490-1737. German; a few early entries in Latin. Preceding the first entry is the note, "Anno domini millesimo quadringentesimo nonagesimo editus est iste liber ad inscribendum pueros baptisatos, sub Johanne Ulrico Surgant, decretorum doctore, curato huius ecclesie Sancti Theodori Martyris," etc. Two volumes. At the beginning of Vol. 1 is a printed calendar in Latin, with the forms of benediction of salt and water; and at the end is an index of names from the year 1541 to 1606. Paper; in the original bindings of stamped pigskin and tooled vellum. Folio.'
