THE Elements of Law, Naturall and Politique," with a dedicatory epistle to William [Cavendish], Earl of Newcastle, 9 May, 1640; by Thomas Hobbes. The treatise was printed in 1650, in two parts, with the titles, "Humane Nature, or the Fundamental Elements of Policie," and "De Corpore Politico, or the Elements of Law." Paper; xviith cent. At the beginning is pasted a woodcut frontispiece from the "Philosophicall Rudiments," London, 1651, 12mo. On the last page are memoranda by Henry Webly of New-bridge, of the end of the xviith cent.
