EXEMPLIFICATION of the " Valor " of Fountains Abbey, co. York : an inspexinus made 19 June, 1605, for Sir Stephen Proctor 566 EGERTON MSS., 2825, 2826. from the records in the Augmentation Office of the survey on which the site, etc., were granted to Sir Richard Gresham [Lord Mayor of London 1537-8] in 1540. it comprises the return of Leonard Bekeweth and Heugh Fuller to letters of Thomas Cromwell, Lord Cromwell, dated 19 Sept. [1539 ?], and also extracts from accompts by Sir William Malorye and John Carye, " ministri" of the abbey's possessions in the arehdeaconry of Richmond. Seal of the Court of Exchequer. Vellum, 10 membranes. A.D 1605. Belonged in 1839 to W. D. Bruce. Phillipps MS. 33,480 (sale-cat. 1899, lot 1257).
