G. ‘A short account of the life of the unfortunate Thomas Bedworth’; circa 1815. Written in one hand on ff. 1-3v; note in another hand on f. 4 states the document was delivered to one of the principal officers of Newgate and in the same hand on f. 4v the document is described as Bedworth’s confession. Phillipps MS 34755, not identified in Gorton index. A long note on a separate sheet refers to a pamphlet based on this confession, published in London 1815 (STC 1800-1815). Bedworth was executed on 18 Sept. 1815 for the murder of Elizabeth Beesmore on 20 June 1815. Purchased from J. L. M. Gulley, June 2005.
