Supplementary Strachey Papers. Vol. lxxiii. Papers of Charles Isaac Elton; 1580-1888. All the following were found in a binder with a silk cover with the embroidered monogram M.A.E. on the back cover. Elton’s wife, Mary Augusta Elton, was the daughter of Richard Strachey (b.1781, d.1847), the brother of Lytton and Philippa’s grandfather Edward Strachey (b.1774, d.1830). Philippa Strachey thus became the holder of Elton’s copyrights and correspondence from Ginn and Co. regarding permission to reprint one of his poems is with Philippa Strachey’s correspondence, above. Further correspondence is at Add. 60635.
