Contents:
1. The Royal Oak Incident; 1928. Translation of an Italian newspaper article on the series of squabbles which led to disciplinary action being taken by Keyes against several officers of the HMS Royal Oak. Also contains a copy of a satirical shop window display targeted at one of the officers involved and extracts from official correspondence on the incident.
2. Personnel; 9 Nov. 1925 – 7 April 1928, n.d. Contains Keyes’s draft letters to the Admiralty making recommendations for promotion, reports on individuals, and correspondence with the Admiralty.
3. Social matters; 25 Sept. 1926 – 12 March 1929, n.d. Partly Maltese; partly printed. Contains polo club handicap lists, press cuttings reporting the Malta Horse Show and polo matches, a table plan for a dinner hosted by the French navy, and a certificate, in Greek, for a clay pigeon shooting competition.
4. Departure; 2 – 6 June 1928, n.d. Partly printed. Contains telegrams sent to Keyes on his departure as C-in-C and his replies, texts of speeches, and signals to be used by ships passing HMS Queen Elizabeth.
