W. Notes on the route from Cheltenham to Malmesbury via Birdlip, Painswick, Stroud, Cirencester, and other places, almost certainly by the antiquary Thomas Leman of Bath (b. 1751, d. 1826); early 19th cent. The notes give details of the views and antiquities to be seen on or near the route, and are illustrated with three sketch plans, not always correctly oriented, but carefully lettered and showing a simple form of hill shading. Purchased from J. L. M. Gulley, October 1995.
