Walpole Papers. Vol. clxxvii. ( ff. ). Papers, mainly by Walpole and others, but including papers of and annotations by Sir Robert, concerning the above trade disputes; with imperf. list, "No IX / Captures of ships "; items numbered 1 to 13; items 1 - 12 and 14 now in volume; left in original order; this order has been kept, although not strictly chronological; includes chronological lists of events and transactions; notes by Walpole and Sir Robert on depositions from British subjects on their treatment; and an opinion from Mr Murray on their legal position; some papers seem to be drafts or notes, possibly for pamphlets. The papers include also later material relating to Government discussions with Geraldino the Spanish Ambassador in London, and some papers of Arthur Stert, one of the commissioners appointed under the Treaty of Seville to investigate disputes; for the latter see also below; partly copies; partly printed; also included is a copy of the Daily Post for 15 Aug. 1738; [ bef.
