1. Anthony Corbière, of the Foreign Office; later ( 1718 ) Under - Secretary of State for the Southern Department; found in packet labelled: " The Hon. F. Walpole/ Rainthorpe Hall "; annotation by Frederick Walpole on label; the letters contain detailed accounts of Jacobite activities and of the proceedings in Parliament, and in Scotland and elsewhere, against them, and of other Parliamentary business; one letter, 5 June 1716, refers to Pope and to Steele; see also Sicilian Abbots above; 1715 - 1716.
2. Peter Augustus Sampson, of The Hague and Ghent; many transcripts of the proceedings of the States - General, and copies of diplomatic papers elsewhere in the collection, are in Sampson's hand; see also Sampson to Walpole, 1727, Add.
