1. " The Report of Mr Thomas Cole to the Rt. Honble Sr. Robert Walpole & The Rt. Honble Sr. Charles Wager "; concerning his mission to the western ports of France, to gauge the feelings of the people concerning peace, to spy on Jacobite supporters, and on the French navy, trade and shipping; his mission also took him on into Spain, and led to his being imprisoned there; signed by Cole; for notes possibly connected with this MS see Add. MS 74013 (60); for another letter from Cole to Sir Robert on a similar subject, see Add. MS 32778, f. 128 ( 22 Aug. 1732 ); 21 Dec. - 4 June O.S., n.y. [ 1726 - 1727 or 1731 - 1732?; but see also Add. MS 19030, ff. 463 -465 ( June 1740 ) ].
2. Letter to Sir Robert [?], from [ Jean Baptiste de? ] Maignan, enclosing a petition to the former for a pension in recognition of the latter's services; French; 12 Oct. 1734.
3. Text of the " Projet d' accommodation ou de Pacification "; together with preliminary articles, separate articles communicated by M. Fenelon, and two copies of the allies' " projet de resolution "; French; copies; [ 1735 ].
4. Letter from C. Tronchin to Horatio Walpole, enclosing an extract of a letter to Tronchin from Venice, 28 Dec. 1736, concerning a Jacobite plot at Rome, prepared by the courts at Vienna, Versailles and Madrid; copy by George Tilson; 18 Jan. 1737.
5. Paper, endorsed by Coxe: " Papers on the Invasion of Steinhorst by Kings of Denmark 1738 "; 1738.
6. Papers relating to royal establishments and expenditure, particularly of the Prince of Wales; possibly connected with the marriage settlement of the Prince and Princess of Orange in 1735, but possibly part of a general attempt to check the Prince's expenditure; includes a letter to Sir Robert from William, Baron Fortescue, Attorney - General to the Prince of Wales, concerning the leases of the Dutchy of Cornwall, n.d. 7. Copies, in three hands, of the Treaty of Vienna 1730; of George II's letter to the Queen of Hungary, 29 Jan. 1741; and of the Queen's letter to George II, 29 Dec. 1740; with an annotation by Sir Robert as to translating the documents into English; Latin; see also above; [ circa 29 Jan. 1741 ].
8. Paper: " Substance of Mr S[and]ys speech on the 13 Febry 1740/1 in moving to remove Sr R. W. from the kings presence & councills, as taken by Mr H[enr]y F[o]x ".
