C. 'Vue de la Lianne depuis le pont de service jusques à la Briqueterie de Pittaudal avec les dispositions d'amassage des divers batimens de la Flotille Imperiale et Batave'; 1805. Key to map signed 'saint haouen', 'le chef militaire de la marine imperiale', and dated '30 Brumaire 14', [i.e. 21 Nov. 1805]. Scale 1:2436. A scale of 100 toises (= 80mm). Comparison with other manuscript maps of Boulogne in this group show that the map is oriented with West-South-West at the top. Shows dispositions of French transport vessels with buildings significant for naval planning such as the Caserne de Marine and the Arsenal. As this map is dated well after the main concentration of soldiers had left Boulogne, the boats shown probably represent the part of the invasion fleet which was disarmed and moored in the inner harbour to shelter from English cannon-fire. See Lottin, op. cit.,
p. 193. Saint Haouen has not been identified.
Ink and watercolour on paper. 460 x 1050mm.
