1. ff.1-19. Four songs of Donne, for high voice and piano, op. 5 and 53; 1943, 1981. Comprising ink score of 'Three Donne Songs', 1943, to music by 'Terpander', and pencil and ink scores (both dated 1981) of 'Death be not Proud'. With annotated typewritten copy of words for the latter.
2. ff. 20-23. 'If we die' (words, Ethel Rosenberg), for voice and piano; 1947. Ink score.
3. ff. 24-35. 'The Palatine Coast' (words, Montagu Slater), three songs for high voice and piano, op. 21; 1951, 1953. Dyeline copy of ink score of all three, dated 1953: - ink score of 'Lunar Attraction', dated 1951, with the opus no. 13 struck through on title-page and replaced by 21.
4. ff. 36-40. 'Take All of Man' (words Randall Swingler), ode for unaccom-panied mixed chorus; 1951. Dedicated 'For Alan [Bush], on his 50th Birthday'. With annotated typewritten copy of words.
5. ff. 41-46v. Songs for chorus and piano; n.d: - 'Song of the Waking World' (words, Randall Swingler), 'May Day Promise' (words, Montagu Slater) and 'The Pass Word' (words, Montagu Slater).
