19th-cent(?) binding of red leather, gilt-tooled, with marbled end papers.
1. Letters to Robert Pitt from and concerning his sons William and Thomas; 1719-1727.
2. Letters from William Pitt to his mother Harriet, wife of Robert; 1727-1733.
3. Letters from William Pitt to Charles Lyttelton D.D., Dean of Exeter; 1752-[1758?]. With one letter, 11 Aug. 1755, to an unidentified correspondent and a typewritten copy of the letter of 7 Aug. 1755.
4. Letters from William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham, and his wife, Hester, to their nephew, Thomas Pitt, 1st Baron Camelford; 1759-1777. With some earlier letters, [1751?]-1757, bound out of order. The letters were published in part by Lord Grenville, Letters written by the late Earl of Chatham to his Nephew Thomas Pitt (1804). Preceded by a loose note relating to the letters by George Fortescue, June 1874.
5. Letters and papers of Thomas Pitt concerning Chatham's death and funeral, including three letters to him from William Pitt the Younger; 1778. Partly printed.
6. Two later letters from William Pitt the Younger to Thomas Pitt, 1st Lord Camelford, probably bound in by mistake; n.d., [1789?], repectively.
