4. Two panoramic views of San Sebastian, by 'Col. Claudius Shaw K.S.F. Comd Artillery British Legion 1836'. No scale given. The larger of the two panoramas has a note with the initials 'C.S.', 'This view was exhibited in London 1837. This is the original sketch'. Both the views are annotated with military captions. The name in the captions on both views is clearly 'Claudius' Shaw, and a Claudius Shaw wrote a textbook on artillery published in 1854; however, it was Sir Charles Shaw (b.1795, d. 1871), according to Dictionary of National Biography, who, as an officer in the auxiliary legion under Sir George de Lacy Evans, led the attack which captured San Sebastian from the Carlists in May 1836.
