There is a large and elaborate cartouche in the form of a shell ornamented with sun and clouds, before which a plump and naked nymph reclines on a cloth powdered with fleurs-de-lis which has been spread over a heap of the trophies of war. She brandishes a spear marked up as the scale bar in her right hand. 'No.27' and 'No.4' in ink on verso; the latter has been struck through. R.U.S.I. no. HJ 246.
