Add. 57704, f. 1); 18th cent. 1:253440. 'A scale of five statute leagues' (= 3.75 inches). Partly French. The map gives details of the counties of Cape Breton, including acreages. Samuel Holland ([b.1728?] d.1801) was surveyor-general of Quebec and the Northern District from 1764. His task was to survey the coast and to produce charts for the use of the English fleet in American waters; they were published by J. W. F.
