1. 'Plan of the fort town and environs of Fort-Royal in the island of Martinico shewing the operations of the siege carryed on by the British army under . . . Major General Moncton from its landing on the 16th of January to the capitulation on the 4th of February 1762 by T. Davies Capt Lieut R. Artillery 1762'. 1:9600. 'Scale of 800 feet to an inch'. Scale bar of 7200 feet (= 9 inches). Amherst no. C 32. R.U.S.I. no. A 31.30.

2. 'Martinique copied from the survey of the French engineers which was made in the reign of Louis seize, by M. Gen. F. Maitland 1809. Unfinished for want of time but quite accurate as far as it was done. Silver paper was laid over the original which was traced off'; signed 'F. M.', i.e. Gen. Maitland, but probably by copyist, although the scale is also signed 'Fred. Maitland'. 1:53400 approx. Scale bars of 2000 French toises (= 2.875 inches) and 6400 English feet (= 1.4375 inches). Map oriented with North-West at top. Unfinished. Accompanied by 3 views, and a printed portrait of Col. Gaudin de Soter, engraved from a sketch by Eckstein, all attached to the main sheet. Presented to the Institution by Gen. Maitland. R.U.S.I. no. A 31.27.
