Includes (ff. 7-55b) an extract, partly by Sir Henry himself, from the diary of Col. J. D. H. Stewart, who travelled to Khartoum with Gordon, and was killed in Sept. 1884 while leading an expedition by steamer from Khartoum to attempt to join up with the relief force.
