'The thirst of gold, or, The lost ship and the wild flower of Mexico', drama in five tableaux, adapted from the French of d’Ennery and Dugué by B. N. Webster. Licence sent 25 November 1853 for performance at the Soho Theatre 5 December 1853. Title page signed with Paris address. Songs and diagrams included in MS. LCO Day Book Add. 53703 records that the title was changed in 1874 to ‘The prayer in the storm’ or ‘The thirst, etc.’. Published in Lacy's, vol. 13, no. 195 , and said to have been performed at the Adelphi under the title The sea of ice, or, The prayer of the wrecked and the gold-seeker of Mexico.
