'Never too late to mend', drama in four acts. Licence sent 26 April 1858 for performance at the Surrey. Nicoll attributes authorship to G. Conquest, but his name is more securely attached to a later version of this text, for which see Add. MS 52975 A. Cover bears names of Messrs Shepherd and Creswick. LCO Day Book Add. 52703 records the stipulation that all oaths be omitted. This appears to be the first dramatic version of Charles Reade's novel, 'It is never too late to mend'.
